A special commission piece created for the National trust, illustrating the historical house and rose gardens at Polesden Lacey in the Surrey Hills. Polesden is one of the National trust’s top 3 sites and receives a staggering 386,000 visitors each year!

The property was once owned by Margaret Greville (an Edwardian social lite) from the early 1900’s until 1942. She entertained royalty, politicians and celebrities (including Winston Churchill) The Queen Mother spent the first part of her honey moon at the property.

During the Great War, large parts of the house became a convalescence home staffed by military and nurses.

The wider estate has personal significance to me as its a place I frequently visit with my dogs. We enjoy walking through the surrounding fields and woods throughout the seasons. As a result, I felt honoured to be asked to complete this piece. Thanks to the National trust for giving me this opportunity.
